CHALLENGE
When I joined Princess Music, they were an ambitious chamber-pop band with a growing local following, but limited infrastructure and visibility beyond the Denver scene. The challenge was to help them scale creatively and professionally—from studio recording to live performances and regional touring—without losing the artistic depth that made them special.
SOLUTION
Over the course of three years, I took on a leadership role managing nearly every operational and creative aspect of the band’s growth. Key efforts included:
Full-Length Album Production: Managed the recording and release of Odobenidae, a critically acclaimed full-length album supported by a successful Kickstarter campaign.
Live Performance: Produced and promoted a sold-out show at the Bluebird Theater (Denver, 400-person venue), featuring a 17-piece chamber ensemble performing the album live.
Tour Planning: Booked and coordinated a 3-week East Coast tour, managing travel, accommodations, budgets, and promotional strategy.
Public Relations: Secured blog features, music write-ups, and press coverage—including a live in-studio session on WNYC’s Soundcheck.
Creative Direction: Oversaw branding, social presence, visual assets, and merchandise to support album promotion and live shows.
OUTCOME
Sold out the Bluebird Theater with a full orchestral performance of the album
Successfully crowdfunded album production via Kickstarter
Completed a multi-city tour, expanding the band’s reach and fan base
Garnered regional and national press coverage, elevating the band's profile
Released Odobenidae to critical praise, with continued recognition in the Denver music community
REFLECTION
Managing Princess Music was a deep dive into creative logistics, team dynamics, and brand storytelling. It taught me how to balance artistry with organization, how to build momentum from the ground up, and how to connect audiences with meaningful, layered experiences. It remains one of my most creatively fulfilling—and most collaborative—projects to date.
